Before getting to the horrific story of a Ugandan lesbian who was vaginally cut – let me introduce the evil and ignorant players who have turned Uganda into a country of homophobic hate.  IS IT FAIR TO HOLD THE PRESIDENT OF UGANDA AND PASTORS LIVELY AND LANGA RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS BRUTAL ACTION – INDIRECTLY?

PRESIDENT Museveni claims to be a Christian

President Museveni of Uganda:

He added his signature to the homophobic bill in the face of an international letter signed by over 60 scientists stating that homosexuality was “NOT a disease, mental illness or perversion, and since homosexuality cannot be reversed, people are born with this sexual orientation” (which is normal).

Rev. Scott Lively (USA) was invited by Pastor Stephen Langa(Uganda) and the Ugandan government to speak on the topic of homosexuality.  Lively spoke for five hours.  During his Ugandan trip, Lively also addressed more than 50 members of parliament. The following week, Langa’s Family Life Network convened a follow-up seminar

Hatefilled "Christian" pastor

Hatefilled “Christian” pastorLie is now on trial for “charges against humanity” in a Massachusettes. When Mother Jones printed a long article on Lively hate-filled Ugandan trip, Lively replied.  I am just quoting a part:

Lively writes: “Our society is coming apart at the seams because the Marxists are winning, and replacing the Christian ideals of tolerance, mutual respect, self-restraint and personal responsibility with political correctness, factionalism, moral anarchy and statism.

paula:  I would like Lively to inform us where his “Christian ideals of tolerance, mutual respect, self-restraint and personal responsibility” were seen in his words and actions in Uganda.

Pastor Martin Ssempa is a Ugandan pastor and activist, founder of the Makerere Community Church he is being subpoenaed for his hateful political movements which include: opposition to the usage of condoms to prevent HIV contraction and supports abstinence plus fidelity education in the fight against sexual diseases. Ssempa claims to be leading a crusade to “kick sodomy” out of Uganda, endorsing proposed the legislation that made homosexual acts punishable by life in prison or even, in some cases, death.”

THE HORRIFIC STORY FROM GAYSTAR NEWS.

Judith_Twikirize_1_0-1

A Uganda lesbian who was a victim of torture and exorcism was granted asylum by the UK last night (8 June).

Judith Twikirize, 23, was told she had been given the freedom she so badly needed by the UK government by her lawyer. She now has the freedom to pursue her education, her activism and her relationships.

When she was told, she didn’t believe it.

‘I asked my lawyer, “What exactly did they say??”,’ she told Gay Star News.

‘I said, “Are you reading that correctly?!” I couldn’t believe it. I thought he was going to tell me I was going back to court. It was unbelievable.’

Judith – victim of hatred.   Heroine of survival. When Twikirize was young tomboy kid living in Uganda, she was taken to a witch doctor at the wishes of her teachers and grandmother to be exorcised at the age of 10 years old.

It was hoped that by cutting her deep with razors and forcing her to sleep in a ‘house of spirits’, it would force the evil that ’causes lesbianism’ to leave. This went on weekly, sometimes twice a week for a year.

When she got older, and started a relationship with a girl, one night in 2008 led to them being brutally attacked. Her girlfriend was hospitalized.

Shortly after this, it is believed someone at Twikirize’s girlfriend’s work had found out about the relationship. Her girlfriend was then killed by poison.

Twikirize fled to the UK in 2009, seeking the help of Out and Proud Diamond group, an organization of African LGBTI and ally activists.

But while there were repeated attempts to deport her back to the country that could have meant her death, the 23-year-old is now free to live the rest of her life in one of the best places in the world to be LGBTI.

She is now receiving medical treatment for her past torments and is hoping to go to university to pursue her love of fashion design.
