Those of us privileged to live in democracies that allow freedom of speech, freedom of movement and freedom from gender discriminate, applaud loudly for the LGBTI community in Uganda. This year (2015) they planned and carried out a Pride Parade. They were compelled by the fierce and vicious laws of Uganda to meet and celebrate in a secret location.

About 100 LGBTI brave participants met and voiced their pride in being born LGBTI.

President Museveni of Uganda - did nothing to stop homophobia

President Museveni of Uganda – did nothing to stop homophobia

President Musenveni of Uganda is well aware of the scientific data on homosexuality. He played a clever game of stalling his signature on the Anti-Homosexuality Act (AHA) of 2009, then known publicly as “Kill the Gays Bill.” (Are Ugandans aware that there was a “Kill the Jews” movement in Nazi Germany coined by Hitler as “The Final Solution.”?).

Musenveni asked the Ugandan scientific community to advise him on the “homosexual matter.” What he got was a world-wide letter signed by sixty scientists and medical workers. They stated that homosexuality was not a mental condition, and not a perversion. They stated that homosexuality could not be reversed and hence it was NOT a choice. Museveni listened to the “Christian” members of Parliament and signed the bill.

Scott Lively arrived in Uganda and gave vile homophobic workshops to “Christians”in general, but to government workers as well.  The “Kill the Gays Bill” was introduced in Parliament.  Later, a rag magazine posted pictures and names of suspected gays and lesbians.  Amongst those photographer and named was activist David Kato.  Scott Lively had returned to the USA, but his seeds of hate had been planted by him and others.

David was murdered in his home.  His murder did not quell the desire for Christians to thread on the necks of those ‘born gay.’  The laws are still on the books. Scott Lively is awaiting trial brought about by gay activists from Uganda.

Well done, my Ugandan sisters and brothers! Uganda has its dispicable homophobic laws, but they can never take away who you ARE! You are magnificent human beings! We applaud you. Stay well.   Stay safe. Our love to you all.
