Unknown-1Two women hold automatic rifles – two women hold holy books.  What is the difference?

If you are a right-wing conservative and born again Christian, you will state that the girl with the American flag and holding a Bible cannot do anyone any harm.  Christians, after all, are NOT violent.  The same people would tell you that the Muslim woman with the Koran is obviously a terrorist.

My Own Personal Thoughts:

I do not believe that a weapon belongs beside any holy book.  I am fearful that either woman may find a passage in the Bible or Koran that would justify her killing another person.

I support people to have a personal faith.   I support people of ‘goodwill’ of any religion to meet and pray together in peace.

Violence and Imposing Religious Views

There are Bible thumpers and Koran thumpers.  There are silent Christians and silent Muslims who go to work, live neighbourly lives and treat their neighbours with respect.  They would never think of indoctrinating anyone.  They respect all religions.

While in jail, Kim was reportedly glad that supporters were praying for her. I think she'd like them to pay for her! Book in the works - paid t.v interviews, etc

On the other hand, are the religious extremists.

The Bible or Koran is equally a weapon in their hands.  Kim Davis, the law-breaking Kentucky clerk who won’t hand out marriage licenses, is to my mind, no better than those Muslims who want to impose Sharia Law in opposition to civil law.  Both are willing to break the law of the land for their brand of religion and their “belief” that God is telling them to act against the civil law.

Final words.  Religion can bind us to one another.  The major religions have the same common themes: Love God and Love Neighbour.  They ask their believers NOT to judge and leave the judging to God.  They ask for justice, taking care of the poor and being peaceful people.  It is the extremists that are intolerant and war-like.

Just my opinions.  Peace and love to all.
