The original “Iron Lady” was one of the most hated politicians in Great Britain. Margaret Thatcher made it clear from the start of her career that she was NOT a friend of the working class. The tradition of ‘free milk’ in schools had always helped poor kids to concentrate on school work. Many of these poor kids never had a breakfast and the milk would get them through to lunch time. She took it away!!!
I don’t know about Mae Beaver, but Donald Trump has promised to get mines working and to bring back jobs. This was a promise made by the Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher. She broke her promise. She called in police and the army when miners tried to remind her of her promise. Mines were closed. The communities around them were devastated – the number of poor rose and children were again victims – no free milk in schools.
Let’s wait until Trump’s reformed “Obama Care” medical system is reformed and at least 20 million of the poorest Americans will not have health coverage. Many of these persons served in the military.
Margaret Thatcher, Iron Lady, targeted the poor. There were very few jobs, but that did not stop her from reducing welfare payments to those most in need. More people became homeless. She did not keep her promise of job creation – in fact, jobs declined. People who wanted to work and could not find jobs – lost their homes and became street persons. Families lived in cars and vans.
Margaret Thatcher, like all “Christian” politicians went to church. It often seems to me, that those who proclaim Christianity to the masses, do it for political reasons. Jesus was a friend of the poor. When you take care of the poor – give them enough food to get through school lessons – give them jobs – the economy benefits.
ATTACKING GAYS AND NOT ADDRESSING NEEDS OF THE POOR.
It doesn’t matter to Mae Beaver (and Mark Body) that trying to reverse marriage for gays and lesbians would cost the state $8 billion annually. These are negative UN-Christians being filled with hate. Jesus never mentioned homosexuality – but you can go back 3,500 years ago to Leviticus. In this ancient book homosexuality is an abomination, but so it divorce, women not virgins before marriage, eating pork, laying with a menstruating woman, etc. etc.
Does this “iron lady” not realize that she is representing, gays and lesbians, and their families and friends.?
Why doesn’t Mark Body and Mae Beaver concentrate on Jesus actually did say or command?
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
Whoever gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes will get many a curse.
And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
I would suggest these two people read the Story of the Good Samaritan, where Jesus points out that no one should be discriminated upon, but rather judged by his or her actions of love.
These two political representative should be spending their extra ‘hateful energies’ on working at food banks, etc. etc.
God is love. (John 1). And finally more words of Jesus – “Do not judge.” “Love your neighbour.”
Let’s really forget about the poor and allow the insane to own guns. The caption reads: “The voices in my head are telling me to choose this one.”
