Paula here. As you are undoubtedly aware, there are basically TWO competing FORCES in this world – Love and Hate. The world spins on these two opposition forces. I’ll just type words and you can put them easily into these two categories – perhaps, there is a third category – Complacency/Non-Caring: poverty, sickness, misogyny, racism, religious intolerance, KKK, sexism, sexual orientation attacks, inequality, injustice, female oppression, gay oppression, child rape, child marriages, incest, violence, domestic violence, glass ceiling, prejudice, bigotry, ….etc. etc. While we cannot change the world – we can change our roles in it. We have to take a stand when we hear jokes that are racist, sexist, misogynist, and we have to find clever and non-confrontational ways to do it. When a gay joke is told, simply say, “Hey, Fred, be careful where you tell it, many employees may have gay children or relatives,” or when a sexist joke is told, “Hey, Fred, don’t let your daughter hear that joke, she may want to be a President of a company
