Pat Robertson – selective Bible reader

Paula here.   Look, I’m not into judging anyone that’s God’s job.  However, I do take offence when someone like Evangelical Pat Robertson, uses Biblical verses to support Trump.  This is dangerous waters and unholy (in my opinion).

Leading the Sheep Astray

unknown-8I’m a Christian, but I love to include many different religions in my search to be a good person.  To start with, there does not appear to be any religion that does not follow:

Love God – Love Neighbour – Love self.

Every religion instructs its followers not to lie or cheat and not to commit adultery.  Now, I’m not preaching or judging – I am responding to Pat Robertson who believes in the above, but somehow believes that these laws DO NOT apply to Donald Trump.  In my opinion, Pat Robertson is leading his audience astray.   He does not follow the GOOD SHEPHERD.

Robertson, the FBI Director and God.

Robertson states: “God Did Something Amazing” referring to the FBI Director investigating more emails.  And he quotes Proverbs 11:30

The televangelist pointed to Proverbs 11:30, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity,” to show that the “duplicity” of Clinton, President Obama and Anthony Weiner is catching up to them and will be their downfall.

Responding to Robertson.

Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers.  Proverbs 4:14

Trump’s campaign is on a ‘wicked path’ based on his dividing of Americans, of pitting races against one another.  He collectively painted Mexicans as rapists and drug dealers, adding that he was sure there were some good ones.   He singled out an American born judge and stated that because his heritage was Mexican, he would not get a fair trial.  He has gone to sites that look legitimate and quoted figures that show Afro-American crime that is out of proportion to white crime.  He has belittle numerous women in many ways.  His campaign is one of hatred.  It is one of lies – repeated lies.

Robertson’s Condemnation of Clinton and Obama

Trump’s “pussygate” tape shows a lack of respect for women.  It is on public record that this man committed adultery when married to each of his three wives.   Let’s look at Scripture, since Robertson is happy quoting it:

Exodus 20:14 – Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Proverbs 6:32 – [But] whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he [that] doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

Trump and Lying

Fact checking shows that Trump is a consistent liar.  Robertson should know these quotes:

Leviticus 19:11

“ ‘Do not steal. “ ‘Do not lie. “ ‘Do not deceive one another.

CNN’s Brian Stelter calls Donald Trump a “uniquely fact-challenged candidate,” which is a prelude to introducing Daniel Dale, Washington correspondent for the Toronto Star, who fact checks every single word Trump utters and tallies them up for his paper.

Dale says most fact-checkers look at two or three things Trump says, “meticulously fact-checks them and posts an article,” but “that doesn’t work when you have a candidate who is frequently saying 20 false things in a day, up to 37 on some days.”

There is still the Trump University scandal.

Trump and Not Paying Debts

Jesus reacted strongly to people who cheat, particularly if the people are poor.  Here he is seen driving the money changers from the Temple.

Trump is on record for cheating people out of money – people who have worked for him.

Pat Robertson should refer to James 5:4    Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.

Jesus clears the money changers out of the Temple. They cheated the poor.

Jesus clears the money changers out of the Temple. They cheated the poor.
