Pastor Rick Scarborough has made a vow before God, and naturally he will go through it. The Texas pastor told his congregation, state( and – through the mass media )- the world, that he will set himself on fire if gays marry. This to me goes against St. Paul’s calling the body “the Temple of the Holy Spirit,” but maybe the pastor has found another verse that will allow him to carry out self-mutiliation. Well, gays today are allowed to marry in all 50 states (June 26, 2015). Ouch,, burn baby burn! (humour not malice).
Time and Date
When Pastor Scarborough sets the time and date of his burning, I know that there will be gays present – praying for him and forgiving him. There are many gays and lesbians who are devoutly Christian, but it is within their right to fight for justice, liberty and equality.
Fox News: I am sure Fox News will be there. They will re-run the first lighting of the fire – and then do a spark by spark, flame by flame – commentary. Pastor Scarborough last words must be clearly spoken, because I am sure he will want to vent his hatred to the world. The last thing he would want is for Fox New to be arguing over his last words .
Did he say, “I am happy to die,” or “I am happy to fry?”
Did he say, “I do this seriously for the love of God,” or “I do this seriously for the love of Gord.”
The Long Insane Pastor
This is a man who described AIDS as “God’s judgment.”Scarborough previously offered to sacrifice himself to help the Oregon bakers who refused a same-sex marriage cake order: “The preachers need to get out front, the leaders need to get out front, out front of these ordinary citizens and say, ‘Shoot me first.’”
Alternative to Burning
Pastor Scarborough, you lost the fight with the Supreme Court’s ruling today, June 26, 2015. You are burning with hate – so here’s a way out from death by fire – have a public ice-bath. Fill a tub with ice-cubes and tell everyone that you are putting out the fires of hatred, both for yourself and world’s humans. Then phone Gord.
