In a location in Honolulu, R&B Divas (television show) star Monifah Carter married her girlfriend Terez Thorpe. The happy day was in February 2015 and later shown on television in 2015. Their first date was at Sushi Samba in New York City. They spent the next two years together until they became engaged in Chattanooga, Tenneese during Monifah’s filming schedule.
“Thank God she said yes,” Terez said of the proposal by the world-renowned aquarium in Chattanooga.
The Significance of Engagement Rings
The engagement rings are diamond and amethyst, to represent happiness, healing, and eternal love. The couple, like any couple, wanted to personalize their precious wedding. Monifah designed her own wedding dress with a couturier, Giselle James, from Atlanta, while Terez wore a jumpsuit that she created with a New York couturier, Walter Foster.
The Actual Day
It was the wedding planner, Brit Bertino, who gives us an idea of the happy day. “No design, special menu feature, or guest book could overshadow the significance and beauty of a day that joined two lives together despite the odds.” She also added: “Not many people in this world have been able to witness a same-sex wedding like this one, and to do so was an absolute honor.”
Congratulations to both Terez and Monifah.
