paula here: I’ve always loved the androgynous look that is stylish and sexy. Don’t get me wrong there is a time and a place for a plaid work shirt, jeans and workbooks. There are also the butch-leisure-look of men’s shirt with short-sleeves or rolled up sleeves. I also love those sexy women who can wear a white man’s shirt and black pants and dance like Fred Astaire. However, there is that dressed-up androgynous look that has a woman looking like a man but with some make-up that “leaves them guessing.” I think ellen does that a lot. She certainly has that butch look, but it is tempered by studio-make up that softens the look. I guess what I am saying is that there is the proud ‘butch look’ and the proud ‘androgynous look’ and then there are women who dress in men’s clothes and still look quite feminine.
There is those lesbians who shun make-up and don’t want it applied even if they are dead! I have fair skin and weather cold or hot affects my face. I dab on some make-up to take away the wind-swept or I-have-been-in-a-desert-look. However, there are lesbians that embrace make-up and I am not referring to the label of femmes. These are the androgynous bold lesbians and straight women. Make-up is fun to them. So here they are….paula.
