Sanne van Kerkhof

Sanne van Kerkhof (The Netherlands) is a well-known Dutch short track speed skater. She completed competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Russia in the women’s relay. She was one of seven openly gay athletes at Sochi and we are proud of this fact. She is no longer in a relationship with fellow Dutch speed skater Ireen Wust. Sanne holds four European Championships.

(born 27 January 1966) is a former speed skater from Norway. Edel skated in all Winter Olympics from 1984 to 1998, making her one of only three Norwegians to have participated in as many as five Winter Olympics

Christine Diane “Chris” Witty (born June 23, 1975 in Wisconsin is an American speed skater and racing cyclist.  She has participated in Olympic Games in both sports.

She won medals at both 1000 and 1500 meters in the 1998 Winter Olympics. In 2002 she won Olympic gold in Salt Lake City, setting a world record in the process.

In 1996 she became World Champion Sprint in 1997 and came second in 1998 and third in 2000. In 1998 she won the gold medal at the World Single Distance Championship  and silver in 1996 and bronze in 2000.

In 2000 she placed fifth overall in the 500 m cycling time trials at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, becoming only the ninth American ever to compete in both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

Chris currently lives with her partner, former Dutch long track speed skater Frouke Oonk.

 Anastasia Bucsis – Canada

She competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, then competed in the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. Bucsis publicly came out as a lesbian in 2013 at Calgary Pride. She is in a same-sex relationship with women’s hockey goaltender and three-time Winter Games gold medalist Charline Labonté
