Rosie O’Donnell and Trump have been feuding. He called her ‘a pig.’ This was a very gentleman expression. However, when interviewed some years ago, he was asked if he respected women. Donald replied, “I can’t say I do.”
‘This is not Russia,’ O’Donnell said in a rally near The White House. The rally was billed as A Resistance Address: Defending American Values in a Time of Moral Crisis.
‘To Donald Trump and his pathetic band of white, privileged criminal businessmen, I would like to say to him, “nyet, sir.”‘
Rosie traveled from her home in New York City to Washington DC to deliver her thoughts personally.
The actress and former talk show host called upon the media to more aggressively call Trump out when he says things that are not true.
‘He lies, he lies, he lies,’ she said. ‘And it’s about time they all started saying that, instead of, “It appears as if he hasn’t been speaking the truth.” Cut it down to the least common denominator like he does.’
Running for President
During the first Republican presidential debate in August 2015, moderator Megyn Kelly asked Trump about his various insults aimed at women over the years.
‘You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals,’ Kelly began before being interrupted by Trump who said: ‘Only Rosie O’Donnell.’
Said O’Donnell at the rally: ‘He has degraded and bullied women his entire life and career. This is America. It is not yours. It is not corporately owned. It is of the people, by the people, and for the people. And we the people will not stand for it.’
