Ellen Page is a proud Canadian actress who came out proudly last year. Naturally, homophobic “Christian” pastors have nothing better to do than to attack people like ellen who, like us all, are born LGBTI.
Ellen Page tweeted a witty response to a religious pastor who attacked her for being gay (22 March, 2015).
Use Humor on Those Miserable People
Ellen characteristically used dry humour, when she responded to the views of the homophobe on Twitter.
‘2 da Pastor who wrote me-Being gay isn’t a belief. My soul isn’t struggling& I don’t want arms of Heavenly Father around me. A girls arms? Yes’ she wrote.
Christians bigots cannot dictate how God loves His/Her children – be they Christian, Hindus, Judaic, Muslim, Buddhist etc. etc.
Ellen Tired of Hiding
Ellen is a well-known actress known for her roles in films such as “Juno, X-men and Inception.” She came out gay in February, 2014 at an LGBT conference to promote youth welfare in the United States of America. In her speech she stated that she was “tired of lying by omission.” Here is what she said, ‘I’m here today because I am gay. And because… maybe I can make a difference. To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility’
After her announcement, she enjoyed a wealth of support online from fans and co-stars and this tweet in particular has been retweeted over 5,000 times by her followers.
Upcoming Film to Look Forward to:
Ellen will star alongside US actress Julianne Moore as the pair portray a lesbian couple in an upcoming indie film called “Freeheld.”
The film, based on a true story, is about the lesbian couple and their fight for equal rights when one of them is diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Comment by paula: Thanks ellen for ‘coming out’ and inspiring youth kids to live their truth. You probably have no idea of lives you have inspired and lives you have saved.
