images-27How Do You See God: Loving or Fearful?  This is important when we look to those countries where religion dominates personal lives, politics or the society in which individuals live.  If the God is perceived as a punishing God, then people who are found to be transgressors or sinners (homosexuals for example) will be put to death.

THERE IS A LOVING GOD IN ALL RELIGIONS AND THERE IS A JUDGMENTAL GOD WHO  PUNISHES.   HOW DO WE RECONCILE THE TWO?

JUDAISM, CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM PRESENT GOD IN BOTH THESE OPPOSITE PICTURES.  THE CHALLENGE FOR THE BELIEVERS IN EACH OF THESE RELIGIONS IS TO SEARCH THE HEART AND SOUL OF EACH PERSON AND TO FIND OUT IF GOD IS SOMEONE TO FEAR, OR SOMEONE WHO LOVES UNCONDITIONAL AND LIKE A FATHER.

I CHOSE TO THINK THA T THE GOD OF JUDAISM, CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM IS A GOD OF LOVE.  LOOK AROUND YOU AND SEE THE BEAUTY OF CREATION.  GOOD PARENTS LOVE THEIR CHILDREN NO MATTER HOW DIFFERENT THEY TURN OUT TO BE.  A PARENT LOVES MORE THAN HE OR SHE HATES THEIR CHILDREN.

EACH RELIGION CHALLENGES US TO CHOSE IF GOD IS SOMEONE TO BE FEAREDOR SOMEONE WHO LOVES EACH ONE OF US.

I, PERSONALLY, RELATE TO A LOVING BEING RATHER THAN SOMEONE THAT I HAVE TO FEAR.   HOW ABOUT YOU?

  1. I definitely relate to the loving God, because GOD IS LOVE. He made us in his image so that’s how he wants us to be. Yes?????

    • Hi Mary:
Thanks so much for your positive comment. Love is putting yourself in another person’s shoes. None of us know the journey of another or its ending. To project a God that is revengeful and wishing to kill or harm others is so sad.
