Let’s just look at the teams that have lost so far and then look at their INCREDIBLE SUCCESS in getting to the qualifying rounds in Canada.
It is so typical of the world to hail the winners and disregard the loosers. This is the case in FIFA 2015
Women’s Soccer. The Côte D’Ivory is a case in general.
They sit at the bottom of Group B with no points, but few know the wonderful success of Côte D’Ivory and their wins to reach FIFA in Canada.
The Road to Canada The Ivory Coast struggled, but scrapped a path to the third and final spot available to African teams at the 2015 Women’s World Cup. A win over Namibia put the team in good shape to advance out of the group stage, but a 1-1 draw with group minnows Zambia left passage to the knockout stage up to goal-differential, where an even standing held up. The nation lost in extra time to would-be World Cup debutantes Cameroon in the semis and left victory over South Africa in the third-place match to the 84th minute. Still, qualification was earned.
World Cup History: This marks the Ivory Coast’s first ever qualification for the Women’s World Cup.
This is the standing of Group B in the first round, with
Ivory Coast at the bottom, but this does not tell the success of Cote D’Ivoery.
