Christian Post: John Stonestreet – Arrogance Against Neighbour

You’ve seen those ridiculous “Coexist” bumper stickers, right? You know, the ones where the word is spelled out using religious symbols from Christianity, Islam, Paganism, Gay rights, Judaism, and so on?

Paula responding: This is the Christian right’s arrogance.  Stone street believes that only his brand of Christianity can ‘save’ the human race and bring them all to Jesus.. It is “our way or the highway.” There is no room for dialogue.  Coexist bumper stickers are more likely to bring people to God – and untie humans in harmony – then the sick Christianity of John Stonestreet.

It is the same with the Christian Post’s numerous articles on “religious freedom”.   Is is religious freedom to deny a hotel room to a gay or lesbian person?   Is it religious freedom to deny any rights when in business. In North Carolina a business can deny service on religious grounds. This means that a Christian that believes Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists are worshipping the non-true God could deny service.

Failure to Acknowledge Scientific Research

The good Lord gave us wisdom to grow and accept modern inventions.  No Christian rejects open heart surgery – something unknown in Leviticus 3,500 years ago.  In that era, women died in childbirth, there was no knowledge of how to cure cancer.  We accept modern medicine as a gift from God – we live longer. The writer of Leviticus knew that producing children lead to strong tribes and more than one wife was necessary.  There could be no room for any man not striving to keep his wife pregnant – she was after all his  property – a price negotiated with her father.   To have men spending valuable time with other men was unacceptable.  As with medicine, the writer of Leviticus had no idea of psychological health or sexual orientation.  A man was lauded in his ability to produce sons – and secondly, daughters.

The World Psychiatric Association representing nearly 200 countries wrote    a declaration to the United Nations and World Leaders in March 2016.  This scientific body declared that homosexuality cannot be changed or reversed, therefore, it is NOT a choice.   You can take this 2016 scientific information or go back to Leviticus written 3,500 years ago when staring a fire was done with two flints or sticks.  After cooking the meal, the wives took it to their husband who lived in either a Bedouin tent or a cave.  Would you go to a medical doctor practising 3,500-year-old medicine?

But, Paul Says

Paul writes to newly converted Christians and warns them to stay away from temple orgies.  The same ratio of heterosexuals to homosexuals probably existed in Paul’s time, so it is safe to say that the majority of participants in temple orgies were heterosexuals.  Paul states that they went against their nature when they participated with same-sex couples.  Homosexuals are NOT going against their nature.  This is what thick-headed Christians cannot understand.

Jesus: Gives the True AnswerUnknown-6

The Story of the Good Samaritan is my favourite parable.  A lawyer asks how to enter the Kingdom and Jesus replies “Love God, Love Neighbour, Love self.”  Now, the Jewish lawyer knew of the cleanliness codes of Leviticus/Deuteronomy.   How could he love Samaritans and lepers and be willing to touch them?  Samaritans were despised and yet Jesus drinks from the same cup of a Samaritan woman at the well.  Jesus was always taking THE LAW or Torah to task.  “You know that it is written……….but I say………”  The story of the Good Samaritan focuses on a dying/injured man.  He is neighbour to anyone that comes across him – he is a neighbour in need.  A priest and a Levite pass by – and ignore their neighbour.   A Samaritan stops, puts the man on his beast and pays an inn keeper for him to get well.   Jesus asks the lawyer, “Who was Neighbour to the man?”   Jesus is asking the same question to the Christian Post writers – “Why are members of the LGBT not your neighbour.?   “Which of the abominations is the worse?”  If you eat shellfish, pork or wear two different cloths – why are they not abominations?   What gave you the right to keep the homosexual abomination and disregard the rest?  And Jesus at the Last Judgment will say, “You knew me NOT, for I was in the person of the poor, homeless, persecuted, widow, immigrants, and homosexual.”

The Sin of Pride:  I Can Judge Others like God Judges.

Right wing Christians are stuck in a grave of their own making.  They cannot admit that the writer of Leviticus was ignorant of science – God had to have spoken to him and told him homosexuality was an abomination?   These same Christians blame the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah on homosexuality – yet in these passages Lot is willing to give his daughters to be raped rather than have men engage in homosexual rape?  Did God tell Lot to do this?     The sin of pride is placing yourself as GOD and judging others.   Do not Judge. (Jesus).  If you disobey than

Ezechiel 16:49 His Thoughts on Sodom and Gomorrah

I live,” declares the Lord GOD, “Sodom, your sister and her daughters have not done as you and your daughters have done. 49“Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy.

Paula’s final comments:   While ‘Christians’ like those writing for the Christian Post are busy condemning and judging homosexuals, the poor and needy are neglected.  “But we love the homosexual and hate the sin.”  No, we don’t buy it.   It is like saying, “I love the person but hate your blemishes and I am allowed to do this according to the Bible.”   Here are the people that God does not want in his Sanctuary.

Restrictions against Those with Blemishes Leviticus 19:
…or a man who has a broken foot or broken hand,
Leviticus 20
or a hunchback or a dwarf, or one who has a defect in his eye or eczema or scabs or crushed testicles.
Leviticus  21 No man among the descendants of Aaron the priest who has a defect is to come near to offer the LORD’S offerings by fire; since he has a defect, he shall not come near to offer the food of his God.…
Leviticus 21:19
no man with a crippled foot or hand,Leviticus 22:22
Do not offer to the LORD the blind, the injured or the maimed, or anything with warts or festering or running sores. Do not place any of these on the altar as a food offering presented to the LORD.Paula’s Final Comments:  Maybe the above should not become pastors, ministers or priests.  If God does not want these people in his sanctuary – then maybe “Christian” hotels can refuse to give them a bed, or restaurants refuse them meals – or …………..
