Wedding Bells….ding, ding, ding
WNBA players Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson tied the knot Friday in a ceremony in Phoenix, Arizona.
The couple, both 24, exchanged vows at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, surrounded by arrangements of white hydrangea, white and coral roses, and peach hypericum berries in a “desert elegance” theme.
According to People, the WNBA stars exchanged vows on Friday, 8 May, on a Phoenix mountaintop. Brittney and Glory were engaged in August, 2014.
Griner plays for the Phoenix Mercury, who won their third WNBA championship last year. Johnson’s team is the Tulsa Shock.
There were about 75 guests attending the wedding ceremony.
The Ups and Downs Before Marriage
There was a blip in the engagement in April 2014 when both Glory and Brittney were arrested after a physical altercation inside their new home in Arizona. The police held both women on counts of assault by recklessly causing physical injuries and disorderly conduct for fighting.
According to People, Brittney Griner took a plea deal. She will enter domestic violence counseling, and the charges will be dismissed.
It is never OK for an argument to turn physical,” Griner said in a statement released through her attorney. “This will never happen again, and I take my relationship and my responsibility as a role model seriously.”
We wish them every happiness for the future.
