Before humans die, many of them write a last Will and Testimony. In it, they often leave behind their home and all they have to loved ones or charities. I am a dying rescue shelter dog, and if I could use my paws or my vocal chords to write a dog’s will (or another pet’s will), this is what I would want to tell humans.
-My happy home.
-My bowl and cozy bed.
-My soft pillows and toys.
-The lap that I loved so much.
-The hands that stroked my fur.
-The sweet voice that spoke my name.
-The memories of walks, games and holidays.
–the place I had in my human’s loving heart, of which there seemed to be no bounds
- Finally, I want my owner(s) not to say:
“I will never get another pet, for the loss and pain is more than I can stand!”
Instead, please go and find an unloved dog or cat (or any animal) one whose life has held no joy or hope and give my place to that animal.
This is the only thing that I can give
THE LOVE I LEFT BEHIND.
