He’s the head of his own Katter’s Australia Party and told Sky News he was upset LGBTI people had stolen ‘the most beautiful word in the English language’.
The Odd Ball Kid at School!
Katter recalls falling in love with the word ‘gay’ in high school. He had read “The Rape of the Lock” and held on to a character’s words, “then Belinda smiled and all the world was gay.” He went on to say, “It just conjured up a beautiful image, it was the most beautiful word in the English language, and (homosexuals) said, ‘oh God we will take that word and we will have it as ours’,’ Katter said.
‘‘Oh they’ve got this thing called marriage, the other mob, we will take that too’. Well what else are they going to take? Are they going to take our freedom to say we don’t approve of what you are doing?”
Katter seemed very worried that LGBTI people would also claim marriage as they’re own. He said they would ‘take it’ away from straight people.
I Have News for You, Katter.
I feel that there are many fine and beautiful words in the English language. These are words that inspire others to develop respect for all humans. These are the words that encourage high school students to change prejudice, fear and bigotry into a higher standard of human life. The words are : equality, respect, civility, kindness, kinship, freedom, non-judgment, hospitality, inclusiveness, Christ-like, etc. etc.
Words need to be more than ‘beautiful sounding’ – they need to be lived. The ‘gay’ rainbow flag represents the colours of human skin and each colour stands for an ideal.
Finally, let me tell you, Katter, that you are already ‘walking backwards’ – back to the cave – back to barbarism – back to an era when white ignorant men hunted and killed aboriginal people because they were different. You are a disgrace to Australia.
And for anyone reading this blog, please note that Australia did not give their native people (aborigines) the vote until 1962!
